The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, warmly extends his heartfelt greetings to Nigerian youths across the federation and in the diaspora as the nation enters the new month of March.
In his New Month message, the NYCN President described March as a month of renewed strength, fresh determination, and purposeful advancement. He commended young Nigerians for their resilience, innovation, and continued contributions to national development despite prevailing economic and social challenges.
Ambassador Sukubo emphasized that Nigerian youths remain the backbone of the country’s future, noting that their energy, creativity, and enterprise are visible across industries—technology, agriculture, entertainment, education, governance, and community development. He stated that the transformation of Nigeria will be driven not by complaints, but by committed young people who choose productivity over negativity.
He urged youths to use the new month as a period of personal reassessment and strategic growth. According to him, March should be a time to refine goals, strengthen discipline, build valuable skills, and deepen commitment to excellence. He reminded young Nigerians that progress is not accidental but the result of consistent effort and integrity.
The NYCN President further encouraged unity among youths across ethnic, religious, and regional lines. He stressed that division weakens collective strength, while collaboration multiplies impact. “Our diversity is our strength,” he noted, “and when we work together with mutual respect and shared vision, no obstacle can limit our advancement.”
Addressing young entrepreneurs and professionals, Ambassador Sukubo called for innovation, resilience, and ethical leadership. He highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship, vocational development, digital literacy, and civic responsibility as tools for sustainable empowerment. He also encouraged students and graduates not to lose hope but to remain focused and adaptable in a rapidly changing world.
To Nigerian youths in the diaspora, he expressed appreciation for their global representation and contributions to national image and development. He encouraged them to remain connected to home and continue playing active roles in knowledge transfer, investment, and advocacy that benefit Nigeria’s progress.
The NYCN President reaffirmed the commitment of the National Youth Council of Nigeria to strengthening youth participation in governance, expanding empowerment initiatives, and advocating for policies that promote inclusion, job creation, and social stability. He assured young people that their voices will continue to be amplified at both national and international platforms.
He also called on youths to prioritize character, responsibility, and community service. According to him, leadership begins with self-discipline, accountability, and respect for societal values. He urged young Nigerians to avoid destructive behaviors and instead embrace constructive engagement that builds rather than divides.
“As we journey through this month,” he added, “let us remain hopeful, focused, and united. Let March be remembered as a month of renewed vision, measurable progress, and strengthened unity among Nigerian youths.”
In conclusion, Ambassador Sukubo prayed that the month of March would bring peace, open doors, clarity of purpose, and greater accomplishments to every Nigerian youth at home and abroad.
Happy New Month to all Nigerian youths. May this month be productive, progressive, and impactful for us all.
